How to make your affiliate offer stand out from the crowd

November 2, 2016 Monetise No comments yet

It’s commonplace for Monetise to receive a daily influx of enquiries from potential advertisers who are in search of high quality leads. Who can blame them? We are, after all, the number 1 UK CPA netw…

Okay, enough with the sales spiel. But you get the idea. The products and services that advertisers are proposing to us can have a great deal of variation. But what makes an offer a hit with our affiliates? Let’s take a look at the key attributes for a successful affiliate offer.

 1) Customer journey

How long does it take for a potential entrant for your competition brand to fill in the sign up form? Long forms usually mean a greater drop off percentage for those who have made it to your landing page. If your payout is small, make the form small, too.

Customer journey is vital, and the landing page is an important place to start.

2) Permitted traffic sources

Do you only want leads to come from email traffic? It’s a popular strategy for advertiser’s with offers that have proven success, but if you’re just launching an affiliate offer, split test your traffic sources. Display, email and social media are good places to start if you’d like to test the water.

3)Payout

Affiliate marketing is a competitive business, so your offer needs to at least stack up against its rivals. If you’re only offering £2 for a lead while you’re competitor has a similar offer paying out at £5, there will only be one winner.

Does your offer have a competitive payout? And while we’re at it, who remembers the old fivers?

 4) EPC

While payout is important, the EPC (earnings per click) of an offer is a vital statistic we look at when determining the success of an offer. The EPC metric is used to indicate the average earnings generated as a result of the amount of clicks you’ve had.

What does this mean? Well, if from 100 clicks, you have a conversion rate of 5% on an offer that pays out £10, your earnings per click is 50p.

To work it out yourself, it’s simply, Revenue   ÷   Clicks

5) The landing page

A clean landing page is vital as you strive to keep potential customers engaged once they click on your affiliate link. Is it clear what the user needs to do next in order to make it to the next stage of the acquisition? Is the form quick and easy to fill in? Are you keeping your customers motivated? All of these questions need to be answered convincingly if your offer is going to be successful.

The advertising team would love to hear from you if you have an offer which you think could be a big hit. Get in touch with us at 01332 419999, or drop me an email, at jamescapps@monetise.co.uk.
