How to start with Affiliate Marketing in 4 Simple Steps…

November 10, 2017 Monetise No comments yet

In other words: how to become a successful Affiliate?

Would you like to start a career in Affiliate Marketing but don’t know how? Here, you can find a few basic steps on how to make a start in the industry…

1. Find a topic to write about

The very first step to become an affiliate is finding a niche – something that people are looking for that isn’t very accessible in the market. It might be a product or indeed service, but the important thing is that you provide quality content on the subject. It’s also wise to discuss topics which have high search volumes but with little competition on the big search engines.

Also, remember that it’s very important that the niche you choose is something you’re interested in. It is much easier to write about something you like, and it will make your workday much more pleasant! It’s also best to choose something you have a good knowledge in. It will save you plenty of hours, as you’ll spend less time researching and more time writing. If you know your subject, it’ll be easier for you to engage an audience and keep them coming back to your website in the future.

2. Create a website

The second step will be to create a website where you will promote your product. Nowadays it has become very easy to create a website and you can even do it yourself, using online platforms such as:

  • WordPress

SquareSpace

or Wix

Choosing the right platform is crucial, as you’ll be the one using the software to create the site. You’ll have to spend a lot of time and effort on your website to make it engaging for your audience and to keep them coming back. So take your time and don’t rush with it. The wiser you are in creating your website and brand, the better results in the long-term. Quality over quantity usually prevails.

Focus on the right content and just get going. Keep writing about up-to-the minute trends. The more relevant content you write about, the better.

3. Create Social media content to boost your traffic.

You will be surprised at how important it is to market your product on social media!

Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter & Youtube have become very popular over recent years and are still growing. The best part of it is that they are all free (most of the time). However, you can also use paid advertising on social media in order to reach specific audiences, which is still affordable even for beginners with small budgets.

With social media, it’s very important that you write your content as often as possible. You need to make your users think about your brand all the time and you should keep them interested with your product updates and news. So remember to post, invite your friends, share, and always be online.

4. Go live with your offers!

And then finally, once you have the website, your partners, and marketing all organised, you can start running the offers!

How exciting…..!

Pick a few offers in the beginning, test them out, see how did they do, and then carry on. Keep looking for new offers and keep growing!

One of the most important things in affiliate marketing is that you keep in contact with your partners. It is up to you to get the best possible deals. As an affiliate, you should be always available, quick in responding, and very hard-working!

From the whole team here at Monetise, we wish you the very best of luck developing your website and content. If you have any questions, please get in touch – we don’t bite!

With Christmas fast approaching and parts of the UK already experiencing snow, it’s safe to say winter is upon us. And while usually this time of year we see a surge in spending habits, it’s a 180 for certain brands. As budgets in the finance vertical start to dwindle as the call centres sign off […]

How I Use Framing Theory for Affiliate Marketing

September 12, 2025 Monetise No comments yet

I heard the adage a picture is worth a thousand words the other day. Whenever I hear this, I add that the frame is worth a thousand more. Because from my perspective, the way a picture is framed also dictates the story it tells. Thinking about the way an offer is ‘framed’ can be of […]

Let’s be honest, lead generation is a crowded game these days. Between privacy crackdowns and rising ad costs, throwing up a generic form and hoping for the best just doesn’t cut it anymore.
